Passenger kilometre travelled
Resource Efficiency and Climate Change, Material Efficiency Strategies for a Low-Carbon Future, published by the UN Environment Programme in 2020, defines passenger kilometre travelled (PKT) as: ‘A km of distance traveled by a passenger. Related to vehicle kilometres travelled (VKT) through the occupancy factor (number of passengers per vehicle).’
